We are delighted to have received £9500 from Gateshead Council’s Building Capacity Fund. Some of this money will be spent on developing the partnerships between Silverline Memories and other community groups and charities wishing to be involved in our Community Garden Project in Springwell, Gateshead. The remainder will be spent on the Garden itself, renovating a small building which is to be used as Men’s Shed Project at the Garden. As you can see from the before and after photo below, we have come a long way with the support of our volunteers and employees from Amey and Marks & Spencer. There is still much to do though so please do contact us if you would like to be involved in the only dedicated Social and Therapeutic Horticulture Project for people with dementia in the North East.
